Description

Ray Pro avalanche shovel is designed for rescue missions, building snow walls around tents, digging snow caves, and testing snow surfaces. It is the first shovel with adjustable aggressiveness of the front edge.

Field of application: ski touring, ski alpinism, freeride, mountaineering, hiking or approach ice climb route on avalanche terrain.

Avalanche shovel is a mandatory piece of equipment in ski mountaineering competitions. All Ray shovel models meet the requirements of ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation) and different competitions (for example, La Patrouille des Glaciers (PDG) in Switzerland).

Ray Pro Shovel inherits all features of its predecessor Ray Ultralight shovel: lightweight, titanium front edge and composite hybrid micro-sandwich structure. At the same time, Ray Pro offers even more versatility and increased durability. The scoop has a variable positioning on the shaft: the shovel can be transformed into a hoe for quicker digging on steep terrain. With 4 holes in the scoop, the shovel can be used as a deadman snow anchor.

RAY PRO Advantages:

  • Compact and lightweight.
  • Four holes in the scoop allow you to use the shovel as a snow anchor.
  • Can transform into a hoe.
  • Rubberized handle prevents the hand from slipping along the shovel shaft.
  • Due to the low thermal conductivity of carbon fibre, during prolonged operation. hands are protected from hypothermia.
  • Titanium insert protects the working part of the scoop from wear and chips.
  • Titanium leading edge can be sharpened as needed.
